18.5 knots on Southampton Water....
Take a look at the Youtube Link below to see how hard we were pushing DF920 Racing to get 18.5 knots on a broad reach in 20+ knots of wind under full main & genoa. Shortly after the clip was taken we got a gust of 30+ knots which pushed the leeward hull under......we had to let everything go to ...

920R bowsprit
Hi Chris,
You may already have solution but you are welcome to view Zoum!, a 2001 920R. It is moored in Ocean Village marina in Southampton. I believe the bowsprit is a standard Quorning fitting hinged so it can be swung upward to allow floats to be retracted.

DF28 - 5 berths?
I'm guessing but I suspect the layout may copy the DF35 with a double under the cockpit, galley to starboard and seating/single berth to port. The reduction in the overall length might be explained in part by the treatment of the rear-end if similar to the DF35. I'd hope the DF28 still retains the a...

regarding radar reflector. We inherited this when we bought the boat walker this year. I've been told that the active reflector is the best of it's type though for best effects it should really be mast mounted. Unfortunately, I've not been able to test it's effectiveness in it's current position. Ma...

movement in armas - oval holes in support struts....
I forgot to mention, my 2001 model has the same 'features' - there is some flexing of the armas (and hull for that matter) which I believe is normal from what I've heard from other owners and as a result I also have the oval holes in the struts.

Folding mechanism jammers
I've never had a problem with the folding mechanism jammers - I suspect because the load in this area is less - the support struts and the water-stays combining to counter any movement. One thing I do have as additional security are extra lines from the ends of the forward armas to the bow cleats (e...

Video clip of DF920 on beam reach - wind 25 knots true
Thought this clip would give you an idea of 920 under full sail in 25 kt winds.... http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=L3aoJLai5F8 Obviously, we were over-powered but were in relatively sheltered, flat water. We buried the lee hull a few minutes after this clip and had to let go of the main...... we put a...

New DF800...
I visited Quornings in April this year and met Jens Quorning. I asked about a possible new DF800 but his reaction was that it would probably be too expensive to produce. Also, the DF920 and DF35 sales fully utilize the factory capacity. So I don't hold out much hope.
