That is a known weak point on all older DF. When the boat is heeling the ama's "turning table" is pushing towrds this weak point and it breaks down.

I suggest you to remove the stainless steel part and weld an extension there as is shown on DF920 photo.

Not a big task.

I am happy to help you. These DF's are quite different compared to monohulls if you're a newcomer.
As you can see I've made a 3D CAD model of mine so it is quite easy to present different details.

Remove the boom top lift and adjust the Lazy-Jacks top pair to carry the boom. This works fine with my DF.
This allows you to have a big roach at your main sail leech. Also a square top sail is possible.

I think the DF920 is similar to my DF1000.
Yes, you need to remove the bottom plate to get the rudder fixture out. It is quite easy. Just remove the nuts from inside.

Teflon PTFE sheet is the right material for these. UV resistance is good and it is low-friction. Nylon is NO good because of UV.
