Plenty reasonable, especially the V-berth at anchor. Impossibly (at best), we seek the best of everything- all at the same time. Priorities, priorities...

Forward V-berth as Owner Accommodation?

Good points. I may be exaggerating the importance underway of quick access to the cockpit and rest.

Forward V-berth as Owner Accommodation?

Quorning clearly designates the forward V-berth for the DF 1200 owner's accommodation. Of course personal preference takes preference, even over traditional monohull logistics and comfort- smoother ride; proximity to the helm, sail handling, electronics, etc. But with a multihull- and especially a c...

Tropical Heat- and Sleep.

Tropical Heat- and Sleep.

Concise and comprehensive reply.

Also addresses related question about volume (aka comfort) of 1200 vs 35 main cabins. Information like this is just not found on the Quorning site or, usually, elsewhere.

Thanks very much :D

Tropical Heat- and Sleep.

Good ventilation is essential in the Tropics. For more comfortable sleeping in the lower latitudes... * Does the DF 35 berth below the cockpit provide adequate ventilation? * Or is the DF 1200's aft cabin significantly better ventilated, and therefore more comfortable? Larry, you've had the 1000, 92...

Re: DF35 User Group in USA

Wouldn't it be better an easier if you use this 'the' DF forum as it serves all DF's and I'm sure it is of interest to other DF users what DF35 owner have to discuss? Why do you want a separate forum? I agree. Visitors and members will gain much more from a diverse number of contributions to one fo...

1200 (ARC)

Jens,

Congratulations. The Outremer you outsailed, was it a ¨light¨ too?

If you, Stephen Hewitt, or anyone come across a nice 1200 (or even 35), let me know?

Thanks much. :)

Do you like the galley forward, vs galley aft with access to/from cockpit, ventilation, etc?

Pithy's good. In fact, it's all good. I entirely agree: A scenic, water wonderland. I visited Drew, ex-publisher/editor of the paper (+ dozens of published books on surfing and waves), a Whidbey resident 25 years. In a Nat'l Geographic article about the area, he pointed out how rare it is to be able...

In answer to the original question, The F-31 has very little flotation in the aft portion of the amas, which are very tapered. That may have been a contributing factor allowing the aft end of the ama to bury and that boat to flip over the aft quadrant in the micro-burst. The 920 would have been les...

Re: Comparision DF 920 extreme - DF 28

If i read the specfications of the two DFs it seems to me, that the DF 920 extreme should be faster and show more wind stability. - On the other hand does the older and used DF 920 cost nearly as much as a new DF 28. What is your opinion? Heinrich, I would like to know, too. The 28 has a new, very ...

Living 25 years in Brazil, 5 in Costa Rica, I gotta ask... If you like the regulation third world "Everytime is the first time" approach to pot holes, sailing, well, everything... how come you're still on Whidbey?

Steve B.

Was mine the question of a wimp...?
Check with the ex editor of your Whidbey Island newspaper, Drew Kampion.

BTW, I'm looking for a 1200, but not in a hurry. Appreciate your help.
Thanks.

This is a complaint about F-Boats- not DF's. But maybe it has application to DF's. I don't know because there are no DF's in Brazil to compare, I'm more interested in DF's- and most of all because they are both foldables. Question: Does a gap and potential "trap" exist between aka and tram...

Excellent advice. You've been smart- and the currencies have been on your side. In any case, petroleum-based resins aren't getting cheaper, although typically long market cycles are shorter: 1000>>35>>1200<<(insert) 28. And the dollar's not getting any stronger (although anyone's guess). Still- IF t...

DF 35 Layout(s)

DF 35 interior layout has received not quite attack. But some "flak" for the forward galley starboard; port gap aft, etc.

New "Classic" layout option returns galley/navigation aft.

What's your opinion :?:
