In the meantime I found out that my log was not well calibrated so the speed mentioned some time ago.....not correct! Now looking to a 1000 or a 920 extreme. Reading the comments of the forum and compare that with my wish list  it became clear to me that a DF1000 is my kind of boat. Maybe somew...

To me it is clear that Jens is only interested in the image of Dragonfly and has no interest in this forum at all. Now regarding this accident. Even if the explenation of Jens is true, it still blows my mind that this can happen so easily with a 350.000 euro boat. You would think that the design of ...

I think that Quorning needs extra capacity and a more professional organisation for marketing and sales. It is a great boat but the way they operate is not professional any more these days.

I am orientating myself to see if a DF1000 could replace my current DF800
The once I can find on the internet are older than 2000. When is the last DF1000 build and how many are there build since 2000?

That will depend on your wallet. the best is a walles or similar small airblower/heater on gas. make a closed system that blows the combustion staight outside the boat and blows hot air into your cabin :D A cheaper solution is a small electrical heater of max 1000W to be used in the harbor..... I can recommend Jachtwerf numansdorp at the Veerhaven in Numansdorp. Enough space for your yacht and complete additional services when needed. Directly on the Haringvliet with open water and three possible directions.

How should I repair the middle Hull. It contains osmose and some tell me it can not be repaired due to the sandwich construction. There will always be water in the foam. Any sugestions?

Thats why I will extend the boom by appr. 7 cm to achieve enough reeftension in the sailfoot.

I did not have that problem at all. Should not be necessary. Just ensure your reef holes are well placed.

I have also renewed my sails and chose a square top sail. have it made in such a way my main sail and jib sail are both 10% bigger now.
much better performance in light winds.

I must agree with Ipe Piuccardt Brouwer. I did these speeds on flat water. Every time I get a speed above 15 knots it is great and tells me I made the right choice with a trimaran. The only down side is that you get spoiled. I would like to have a bigger one with space for 6 people. A FD gets to exp...

I am not sure what you guys do but I have a DF800 from 1987, yes 20 years old with the standard mast but with a 10% extended mainsail and jibsail and did 23 knots in force 6 wind last week. later on 21 knots in force 4 wind. Have to say that I have tri radial high aspect sails.

I could not agree more. In an earlier post I already mentioned that Quorning is a good boat builder but on the marketing side there is still a lot to do. They seem not to bother at all. Maybe business has to slow down first before they realize that providing servie to customers is vital for the afte...

Exactly Tojo, You are right but that is also the point I would like to make. The price of a DF is so high that only a few will be able or prepared to pay for it. I do agree with Sailfast that Quorning should be able to reduce the building costs, take a good margin and offer these boats for a accepta...

Hi Jorrit,

Thanks for your reply as the comments I had so far where not very optimistic. It seems very difficult to treat Osmose when you have a sandwich hull. How big where your wholes and why do you have to repeat it every winter?
Again thanks for charing the information.

I agree fully. Quorning is a good company when it comes to the DF and the high level of quality build in the boats. Never the less marketing their product gives certainly room for improvements. on my trampolines the plastic coating is worn off at some places leaving the webbing threads bare. Anyone ever tried to "re-seal" the coat? Hi Nille, I would not recommend a re-seal. its hard to get a good seal with the "old" sealing material and is a difficult job. Better buy t...
