Spinnaker rigging and sailing

Post by saillikeawinner »

Hi everyone
I’d really appreciate some guidance on how to rig up and sail with spinnaker. I have one but have never used it - most often sailing solo.
Any help gratefully received.
Thanks,
Jim

Hi Jim

Would really need to know what type of spinnaker you have. Symmetric or Asymmetric? Quite different in how they are rigged.

I’m sure it’s symmetric - although I can’t check until I get back to the boat. There’s no bowsprit on the boat. I think it’s controlled by sheets at tack and clew that run through the fittings right on the forward end of each float and then back to the cockpit somehow...

But what is a barberhaul??
