rig tension

Post by Nille »

In the manual there is a reference to the rig tension table.
Does anybody have these values for the rig tension?

Using the backstays to adjust your rig do the following:
1) Light wind, set them by hand without using a winch handle.
2) Medium wind, use the winch handle lightly to add tension.
3) Heavy wind, set the backstays on the self tailing winch as hard as you can, turning the winch handle with only one hand.

Buy a Loos Rig tension gauge and make sure your rig is balanced (equal - port and starboard)
Mark your backstay lines in the three areas, light, medium, heavy - all set.

Welcome to the site.

The unit is the LOOS-scale used on the actual instrument.

If I remember to take the manual of the boat I can convert the values.
