Heating a DF 800

Post by Christine »

What do you use to heat your DF 800 cabin and cockpit area when the tent is up?

I don't want too much condensation, or anything too bulky, so thought I'd ask what others use.

Thanks

That will depend on your wallet. the best is a walles or similar small airblower/heater on gas. make a closed system that blows the combustion staight outside the boat and blows hot air into your cabin :D

A cheaper solution is a small electrical heater of max 1000W to be used in the harbor.....

Alternative a small table heater on kero or diesel.

We have a ceramic heater, 1500 W with a "low" stage, maybe 500 W. That's more than enough to heat cabin and cockpit under tent.

Additionally, an Origo Heat Pal if we have no electricity. Like the cooker, it uses alcohol and can also be used as second hotplate, when put into the cockpit. It is lightweight, has nearly no mechanical parts that can get broken, and can easily be stored in the aft part of the cockpit locker.
Like the ceramic heater, the Heat Pal should be removed off-season in colder regions.
