Setting up standing rigging for DF800 Mk2

Post by Ken »

I have just launched my DF800 mk2 (non folding) Vamos. When I set it up the water stays were loose. This is obviously incorrect. How much tension should there be on the waterstays , side stays and fore stay?
My was made in South Africa in 2002. I am looking forward to a sail this week but obviously must tighten the water stays.

Any help would be gratefully recieved.

I have been instructed by the previous owner of my mk2 to just remove the looseness of the waterstay while the arms are just deflecting through the weight of the amas.

Thanks Philippe

I originally had the water stays too tight but fir the last couple of years have been tensioning them as you recommend.
