Updated rig for square top main sail

Post by Mika Harju »

I have updated my rig for this season with new Dyform shrouds and an extra diamond Dyform shrouds on the top section of the mast. Now the upper section is much more rigid, and it does not bend so much any more when sailing in heavy weather with full main.
I have also updated the Frederiksen head board to quick release the head of the main.
Now I am ready for my new square top main sail coming within a couple of weeks.
Please see attached technical drawings in .pdf format. (Thanks Bo)

different mast heights on the DF 1000

Post by betsyderek »

Hi Mike, I see a standard 14.1m mast height and later an optional taller one but can't find the measurements. I am going to look at one tomorrow and will measure. I certainly would like the taller one. Can they all be made to rotate ?
Thanks Derek

This is what I have on dimensions

4) Rig Dimensions
Standard Racing
I 44.2ft (13.5m) 49.2 ft (1 5m)
P 40.5ft (12.35m) 45.4 ft (1 3.85m)
E 13.lft (4m) 13.1 ft (4m)
J 11.3ft (3.45m) 11.3ft (3.45m)

From what I have seen from previous posts about that boat, there is still some "issues" check the bow tang, and I hear the boat does not fold correctly either.

Hey - take a trip to NYC, I am 30 minutes away!

That "sunken" boat

Post by Steve B. »

Maybe it's just me, but the "sunken" boat would have to sell for $50k or less for me to be interested.

How many problems lie in wait that haven't surfaced yet?
(Pun intended)
