Anybody out there ?
Having listened to some of you and spent a lot of time to revamp this forum to make it more interactive, as requested, I see now, that it is much less used than before.
I get daily more people from Russia trying to register as members than from any other country.
So, I asked myself a few questions:
Are you all happy? No Problems, No Questions, No Topics to discuss?
Have we covered everything in he last 5 1/2 years?
Is there anybody from Germany who still looks at this forum?
(We have only 3 members from Germany who has a large DF community.) Don't be shy to post things in German if you're not sure you can do it in English. As in the past, I can either translate it or correct your English where really needed.
Is this "all singing and dancing" forum to complicated to use?
(It's a standard forum software which I already have simplified!)
Shall I continue with the DF Users Handbook, spent several weeks of work for the benefit of maybe 3 who might want it?

I think this is a good forum, I come and check it almost every day.
I think this forum is needed. I think the manual is important. For example, one of these days I will have to change all my running rigging and I do not know what kind of lines should I use for each application, its length and diameter. I helped redo the amas retrieving lines on the DF800SW Nr. 235 (they were 10m long, but did not recoreded the diameter or the type of line).
This forum and website is the only one for our Dragonflies.
Let's keep it alive, thanks Bo.

Error in URL
Hi !
One of the reasons for a lower number of accesses could be the error on the url to the forum from the middle of the main page, which is http://www.dragonfly-trimarans.org/pbpBB/index.php -- should be
http://www.dragonfly-trimarans.org/phpBB/index.php
the url in the left side is correct.

Thanks Anders for letting me know.
Nobody is perfect - not even I.
I've corrected it now.

Login twice
Hi Bo
I'm using Internet Explorer, brings up the forum via link - selects the button "Log in" fills in user name and password, and checks the box - automatic login, presses the loging button - gets up the forum - but the login button is still "Login" and there is no link to "view posts since last visit" so I press "login" again - and repeats the login procedure - and this time it works. It is like this almost everytime. / Christian

Use of Forum
Bo, I agree with you. Dragonfly owners seem reluctant to contribute to this forum, and many questions/posts remain unanswered. I find it difficult to understand;- to buy one of thes expensive boats, you have to be enthusiastic about them, so why does that enthusiasm not translate into more discussion? I'm sure that we could all learn a lot from each other if the Forum was more lively.
Thanks for the work you do to keep it going, but I'm not suprised that you are a bit frustrated with the lack of contribution.
Regards
Mal

Re: Login Twice
I normally access the forum via AOL but I've tried it using IE6 and I don't seem to get the same problem.
However, you might want to try the following:
Avoid 'Log out' before leaving the forum! Just close the window.
It seems to work for me.

Anybody out there
Can only confirm previous comments that for new owners, especially of older boats, forum is excellent source of info. I am one of these. As I become familiar with the boat as we get sailing , I have no doubt there will be issues on which I will be looking for advice. For example, no manual came withthe boat so very useful to be able to download, just to know what it did say as much as what it did not. keep it going,Andrew H.
Great Forum
I've not even bought a Dragonfly yet, but am deriously hoping to get one by the end of the winter, and this forum could be a valuable source of information.
Please keep up the good work.

Is anybody out there?
Hi Bo,
I visit the site regularly to check on topics. I've had my DF800 for 4 years now and in that time have learned a lot from the forum.
I think it's really important that it continues. These are technical boats and anyone new to multihull sailing needs all the help they can get
Keep up the good work, don't stop.
Brian.

Re: Anybody out there ?
[Hello Bo
I've seen in the member list that we are leaving very near in the Var
I am a new recruit ! I've got good sailing experience on Dart , Soling and Finn and I do love speed on water. I should be very interested by a travel or a regatta on a Dragonfly.
Could you be so kind to show me your trimaran or anybody else between Marseille and Menton ?
Thank you

Welcome Marc
Yes, you are right, I'm not far from you when I'm in France.
I'll contact you by email.
Meanwhile, if anybody between Marseille and Menton could oblige Marc with a sail on a Dragonfly please let him know.
