Extra long tiller extension

Post by jean louis »

I am looking for an extra long tiller extension for my DF 800 fixed wings "Stress Free". It must be long enough to steer from the trampoline or even from the amas.
Are your extensions custom made or which mark sell them ?
Thank you / merci

I have a (two) telescopic Ronstan Battle Stick. The longest is 1530 mm - 2490 mm.
It works well even it is a little to short.
When i am steering in the cockpit i have a shorter Battle Stick 740 mm - 1210 mm.
It is easy to change between the two sticks.
I use to adjust the length of the telescopic tillers a lot.

I used to use a old "Hobie Cat" hotstick when I had my 25. I could sit on the windward amma and steer from there.
It may be easier trying to find a beach cat tiller then a more traditional extendable tiller.

Fancy - but not realy usefull

Tiller extension - made an extra long one - just as a simple connection on the existing short tiller extension. It is a 2m aluminium tube – I store it in the boom.
It is long enough to sit on the ama and sail. But it feels akward. Too far away from mainsheet. I hardly use it.

So make a simple prototype and try it out first – it looks fancy to sail from ama – but it is not practical.
