Material of lists around the amas?

Post by Vepo »

Hey, a new owner of DF800SW reporting!
Which material are the lists around the top edge of amas originally?
Has someone replaced them knowing where to get replacements?

My amas are missing those lists completely.
Here's a picture of them:

Oh that might be true. I've sailed a DF1000 before which has those lists so I assumed this one has them too.

Well then, has anyone installed such lists on DF800?

Why add the weight?

I know a guy who raced an F boat and he took off everything not absolutely needed.
This included such things as trim bits.
Needless to say, he had a very fast boat.

Seems like at least some of the DF800 have these. Maybe newer ones?

Lists around theamas

Post by Cruiserfly »

Hello Vepo,

yes, these lists are mounted on my DF 800, hull number 272 but I would like to change them as well cause to UV light damages. I'll try to find a delivery source until spring 2014.

Kind regards

Hello Vepo, did you find the requested material ? After investigation I found a source for similar washboards/curbing rips, a little smaller but in colour white. If you're still interested just send me an email for details.

Still haven't replaced those.
Who is the supplier you're referring to?

Since new DFs have those maybe it's a good idea to check with Quorning?
My own boat needs new ones as well.

After searching the web I found a kind of very special plastic paint in colour white in Germany and after grinding all parts I painted the curbing rips last weekend. To be very honest, I'm really satisfied with the result, the parts look as new.

If you are interested I'd upload pictures, unfortunately I don't know how it works :?: :?: :?:
