What is the reason for not using your cradle? I would never think of not using it. Is it because the hull sits low to the ground? If so I place 12"x12" timbers under the corners of mine to jack it up about 3' off the ground.
I find it very easy to work on the hull and never have to worry that the hull isn't properly supported when you open your boat.
The boat was designed to be stored on the cradle. Unless you have a better idea?
