Full Speed Forward
The autumn has arrived in Denmark; the leaves are falling of the trees and the days are starting to get shorter. At the yard we are busy taking the boats out of the water and make them ready for winter storage. We can look back at a great sailing season. The summer in Denmark and all of Northern Europe has turned out to be one of the longest and warmest in many years, allowing for great sailing experiences with lots of sun. All our customers handing in their boats here for winter storage have had a great sailing season and have been spending many hours and days on the waters of Northern Europe, enjoying their Dragonflys.

Three weeks ago, a rather new Danish race called the Silverrudder took place. The Silverrudder is a single-hand race around the island of Funen. For 134 NM it is only the helmsman, the boat and the elements. We followed this regatta with great excitement here at the Dragonfly team, since 10 out of the 17 multihulls participating in the regatta have been produced from our yard: Nine Dragonflys and one Trident, the pre-runner for the Dragonfly models. Furthermore, Anders Bastiansen, employed here at the yard, participated in the race as well, in our DF 28 Sport. It did not take long before Anders had taken the lead amongst the multihulls and in the Northern part of Funen, after about 12 hours of sailing Anders passed the last monohull even though the monohulls had started several hours before him. After 26 hours, 11 minutes and 30 seconds, Anders in the DF28S was the first boat to cross the finishing line. We are very proud here at the yard of this great accomplishment. Even though Anders was up against several larger monohulls, he managed to be the first boat crossing the finishing line out of the 220 participating boats. Unfortunately for the race, the weather was very difficult, as the wind was very light, during most of the race. Sometimes the wind disappeared and the boats were just drifting around. This also happened to Anders, as he was near the Great Belt Bridge at night. No wind and a strong current meant that the boat drifted very close to the spans of the bridge. Luckily a small breeze came just in time to avoid the spans and he could finish the last part of the race. Anders describes the race around Funen as unforgettable and he encourages other skippers to take up the challenge, since it is a very different way of sailing and you will learn a lot from it. Anders is a very experienced monohull sailor and even though he has been employed with us for more than 10 years, this was his first multihull regatta - and one can easily say that it was quite an impressive début.

This fall we have been very busy with boat shows all around Europe. Dragonflys have been exposed in many different European countries such as Sweden, Norway, Germany, France and England. The boat shows have been very successful. We have met a lot of new people showing great interests for our boats and the multihull concept. Some of the visitors from this autumns boat shows have been visiting us at the yard or stopped by our dealers for a test sail. The very positive trend that we have experienced for the past year seems to continue; it is a very fortunate situation that we are very proud of. We want to thank the many visitors showing up at the shows well prepared with good questions and a great deal of curiosity about the Dragonfly concept. We hope to see many of you again.

We are heading towards a very busy autumn and winter. Even though the number of boat shows and test sails are starting slow down, we have lots of other deadlines. The most important amongst these is to get the new DF 25 ready for the new year. Furthermore we have sold a lot of boats for the past two months, which means we are occupied throughout all winter and for the spring in 2015. So even though the sailing season in Europe is at its end we will continue full speed forward.

45 Weeks of Chartering
This year our chartering concept has again been a huge success. For the first time we introduced our second charter boat Tri Me II. This means that Tri Me I and Tri Me II have been active from the mid of April until the very end of September - in total 45 weeks. We have had about 140 people sailing Dragonfly and being introduced to this rather special sailing concept. All of them have come back with a big smile on their faces and this means we now have additional 140 good Dragonfly ambassadors. We will continue the success next year with two brand new boats. Booking has already started for next year and many of the best weeks next summer is already booked. So if you want to charter a Dragonfly 28 for your summer holiday 2015, please get in contact with us quickly.

Busyness in the Production
We are happy to welcome five new employees in the production. This means that the yard is now occupying 35 people; we have never been so many employees at the yard before. The employees in the production are running fast these days. We have a lot of work with preparing the moulds and the plugs for the new DF 25. On top of this the production of the DF 28 and DF 32 are going really well but requires extra man power. The fact that we can welcome five new employees is a good sign, and it means that we are extremely busy and that we are selling many boats. This is a very fortunate situation in our industry. Again this only confirms the positive trend we have experienced the past few years - and a sign that the trend seems to continue.

From Drawings to Moulds
The new Dragonfly 25 is starting to take its real physical shape. During the whole summer we have been preparing the plugs and moulds for the production of this new model - the centre hull mould and the deck mould are now basically finished and almost ready for production. We cannot present the final drawings yet - these will be ready in three or four weeks, and then you will be able to see all the details and features of our new little 'baby'. Up until now 11 boats have been sold which means that if you buy a DF 25 today, delivery will be in June 2015. We are extremely busy getting the DF 25 ready for presentation in the new year at the London Boatshow and at the BOOT Düsseldorf and we are very excited to hear your reactions and opinions on our new little 'baby'.

Remember Annapolis and Hamburg
The boat show season is not completely finished. You still have two more chances to come and see a Dragonfly at the Annapolis Boat Show in the United States and at the Hanseboot boat show in Hamburg, Germany, both taking place in October. In Annapolis you can meet our American dealer, Richard Suriani, along with Jørn Ravnskjær from the yard in Denmark. Mr. Suriani will be exposing a DF32, this is only the second time the DF 32 is at exposure in the United States. In Hamburg, we will be present ourselves, with a DF 28 and DF 32. We look forward to see you in Annapolis and Hamburg.
