Heavy hose?

Post by Stefan Kolmodin »

Hi,
From the stern and following the keel there's a heavy duty hose with woven cover laying below the floor in the center hull of my boat. It seems to be originally installed by the yard - does anyone know what it is/for what purpose it's there?

Bilge pump maybe?

My 920 has 2 hoses: 1 for electric, and 1 for a manual pump. They are about 5cm (2 inches) in diameter.

The smaller diameter hoses are fresh water. Mine are reinforced type.

Investigated it further and its empty. I suspect it's supposed to be used for a holding tank. Since the boat never had any installed and that I threw out the toilet immediately the hose is a gonner too. Shaving 2 kgs off the scale :-)
I'm installing a lower point in the stem for the waterstay to the sprit - very much needed when coding upwind. A stronger attachement for the halyard in the mast is also on the way - soon time for some sailing again as soon as the ice melts!
