Re: Headliner Removal?
The plastic caps can easily be removed with the aid of a little screwdriver between the cap and the headliner. However removing the headliner is not necessary. Just unscrew the bolt that holds the sheave on deck. The nut is laminated to the bottom of the deck. Kind regards, Jacob Blom, The Netherlands

board downhaul
Our boat had the same problem after we repainted the board and replaced it in a perfectly clean trunk. We discovered that the problem was caused by the part of the downhaulline that is in the top of the trunk when the board is in the up position. There was not enough space for this line between the ...

Re: Mainsail halyard winch
did you change ?, i want to do the same but i dont know if there is a problem with the spyhood, non enught space. did you use the self tailing winch with the sprayhood ? thanks I changed a nr 40 Andersen winch (not selftailing), because of a production failure. A friend of mine sails a 920 with sel...

Re: Mainsail halyard winch
I would like to change the standard starboard side coachroof Andersen winch to a self-tailer for easier single-handed use. The ST equivalent has a slightly larger diameter but would still fit in the existing space. Andersen confirm that the mounting centres are identical, but it is not possible to ...

Re: Unwelcome Visitor
On our 920 touring there is an open connexion between the forward sites of the compartments under the quomings (where the swingwing cleats are). and the compartment under the cocpit floor. Enough space for ventilation. (and a mink?) We wish you succes! Have had either a rat, but most likely a mink, ...

Re: Aka hitting back on strut
I agree with Larry: in normal use, the beam should not hit back on the strut. It might happen in a heavy seaway (though I never noticed). No oval strutholes on my 10 years old DF920. Might it be that your swingwingline is of the stretching type? Manual suggests using Spectra. We sail a 2006 DF 920 ...

Trie to hold the bulb vertical, with the engine side up when squeezing. Succes! Jacob Blom I sometimes get a problem priming the engine with fuel;-when squeezing the in-line bulb, it feels like it is full of air, and does not lift fuel into the bulb & then into the engine. I have replaced the fu...

Re: Accommodation on a 800
Dear It is very much possible sailing the 800 with four. We made trips up to 4 weeks, even carried our small dog with us, and not always at sunny wheather conditions. Our advise: go to a good outdoor centre and buy clothes, towels and sleeping stuff as if you go on vacation with your bike. Keep a go...

Re: Trumatic Heater
Thank you for your reply Jacob; I wonder could I move the heater unit further aft so the exhaust would not then be longer than 1 metre? Maybe there is a reason for this too? Regards, Roger. I think it is possible to place the heater in the compartment behind the bulkhead, but the heater, gaspipe, e...

Re: Exhaust Outlet For Trumatic E 2400 Heater
I have a Trumatic E 2400 gas heater fitted to the 920 which I bought last year and I wonder could I change the exaust outlet from the port hand side (just above the water line) to the transom? That way one could use the heater while the boat is in motion, or is there a good reason for having it the...

Re: Asymmetric Spinnaker
Can someone tell me what is the maximum true wind speed one can fly an asymmetric spinnaker safely on 920 Touring? Thanking you, Roger Ferrall Ireland. We think the maximum true windspeed depends very much on parameters like: - Enough surrounding free water space to bear off in a gust. - Will you b...

Re: Cockpit table
I would like to have a table in my cockpit (in port, that is). I seem to recollect an option to use the cabin hatch as such. Does anybody have this option? How does it work/what does it look like? Is it something I should order from Quornings or is there a generic solution? We use the Laguna Cocpit...

Re: sleeping in the ama
Although physically possible, it'll be quite uncomfortable is my guess (but I've never tried it). To me it would make more sense to put a small tent on one of the trampolines, something like this: http://www.idsa.org/IDEA2006/galleries/idea/idea2006/award_details.asp?id=41&cat=3 We sailed for 4...

Re: Lock - Companion Way Hatch
I need to replace the lock in the companion way hatch. My DF800 is a 1991 model. Is there a nut on the inside? If so, how do you get to it. I call a locksmith and he was not able to remove it. Installing a new lock will also be tricky, I am not sure if I will able to find a short lock here in the U...
