The unit is the LOOS-scale used on the actual instrument.

If I remember to take the manual of the boat I can convert the values.

Thanks for the fast response!

Ok, I think I will try to remove the link when I get the chance and see what happens. Chances are that the former owner put it there for a reason since I do not feel the boat as being unbalanced at all.

rig tension

In the manual there is a reference to the rig tension table.
Does anybody have these values for the rig tension?

Attachment of stays at masttop

I have a feeling that my forestay is a bit too long. At the attachment point on the mast the sidestays and frontstay are mounted together on the pearshaped quicklink but the forestay is attached with another ordinary quicklink instead of using the end eye of the stay directly. Since I bought the boa...

squaretop

I had a very nice square-top mainsail made for my boat by North Sails here in Stockholm. I think the plans for it should be available through their network at your local NS-loft.

Good Luck!

same here. The locker under the cockpit should be ventilated and have a connection for fuelage. I have not connected the tiller and motor and do not think it is neccesary. I only turn the engine for steering in really tight situations.

As said earlier. Just get everything organized and you will be all right. I regularly go weekends with 4 grown up men. In daytime we keep everything in bags in front since all the weight of the crew will be aft. In the nighttime just throw out all the bags in the cockpit (tent up of course). Waterpr...

I sometimes carry a dinghy when cruising but hardly ever use it. If you collapse it, it will fit neatly in the gaslocker under the sugarscope. It is lots of space back there ideal for a long, not to heavy object like a collapsed dinghy. But as I said we carry it more for "what if" than reg...

Or maybe your boat is weighed down by too much stuff! I have my boat lying in Nacka too (fisksätra) and I have to do some repairs to my rudder as well. Maybe we should do a joint effort? My email is nille@bfrex.se Regarding the centerboard, the best way is probably to lift the boat with a crane and ...

on my trampolines the plastic coating is worn off at some places leaving the webbing threads bare. Anyone ever tried to "re-seal" the coat?

wind instrument for rotating rig

Looking for a wind instrument. Preferably with both force and direction(s).

Are there any wind systems that can compensate for mast rotation other than tacktick?

800 Cold and warm

To get the new forum started, I'm interested to know how DF800 cruisers keep their food cold in the warm season and themselves warm in the cold season. I'm thinking of building a coolbox the size of the under cockpit drawer so it can be removed at times when you want to keep weight low. But maybe th...
