Prices for membrane performance sails are crazy high in DK. Strange enough they still increase in NS and Elvstrøm, but keep the same (bit lower) level in others like Doyle. How is it in the rest of the EU and in US?

F. ex. The main sail for 35 Ultimate from NS in 3DL 680 (70:30 Aramid/Carbon) 19,600 Dpi costs 123.365 dkr, what is 16.537 (/7,46) Eu or 21.912 (/5,63) USD inclusive 25% danish VAT. Very similar price is from Elvstrøm and the price is with a winter discount (sth like 15%).

Contact Gran Segel in Sweden. Their prices are not that high and Mats is a keen DF920E sailor so he knows how to make good sails for DF.

Just bought a new main sail for my DF1000R from Gran Segel. It is a square top membrane sail 50% Technora/50% Carbon, skins made by http://www.hbite.com , with 2 reefs, area about 49sqm and no taffeta at all. Price was less than 7 000 euros including swedish VAT.
Last year I bought a 29sqm head sail from GranSegel and it is an excellent and fast sail with one vertical batten to increase the sail area with a couple of square meters.
I recommend.

Those prices seem consistent with what one expects from North and Elvstrom and the general lower intensity of competition in Europe.

I just bought a screacher from Randy Smyth. The sail got shipped to me direct from Hong Kong. I imagine it would be just as easy to ship to Denmark. He also just made a full suite of sails for a new DF 35 ultimate in Florida, so has all the measurements and experience fitting the sails. I would at least get a quote from him.
