Water tank lid

Saw this simple solution on a DF920 in how to check the level in the water tank – transparent plastic lid! With a plastic lid you can see the water level – so simple. Is this standard on DF920? It is not on DF800. So to the rest of you – if you have a wooden lid – replace it with a transparent one – and you can check the water level (and see if there are any ugly things in the tank…)

It's standard on my DF1000.

Water Tank Lid

Water tank lid in my DF920 is indeed clear plastic. When I see muck in the tank, I don't/can/t do anything about it, because would need to undo dozens of screws. I'm going to put a waterproof circular hatch in the plastic lid, so that access will be easier.

Might be an idea to do that initially if you are going to make a clear plastic hatch?

No big deal

It's not a big deal to take off the lid, it IS the access cover.
I've done it several times over the years.
Use a battery powered drill driver. It only takes a few minutes.
You can clean the tank easily that way, reaching the whole inside.

And do NOT forget to change the gasket once in a while.
(A lot of water can come up that way, I knew)
