Hi.

I m going to look at a used 920 built in 1997.

Are there some special things to look at, which are well known to that boat type?

The owner told me, that the mast came down one day and a rigger fixed it.

The mat broke at the fixing point.

I there a possibility to fix that and the mast will be o.k. in the future?

Best regards

I haven't seen a 920, so I'll base a response on my 1000.

1. Look at the aka/main hull hinges and shoulder structure. Hinges sloppy? Shoulder fiberglass look good? Look like it has been repaired?

2. Look at the aka/ama pivot points. Signs of water ingress? Bent/rusty pins? Nuts and threads good?

3. Look at the ama structure around the pivot pin. Still sound? Deformed?

4. Water stays. Cable in good condition? End fittings sound?

5. Does the entire mechanism fold/unfold smoothly.

6. Net damaged?

7. The above is probably the most unique items for a Dragonfly. Everything else you look at should be like for any other boat. Centerboard? Mold? Leaks? Hatch leaks? Deck damage? Mast base damage? Winches? Lines? Stove/heater works? Engine/electrical? Stainless cables? Etc etc etc....

Good luck!
