DF35 Genoa Roller Furler System
Does anyone know the make of the roller furler system on the DF35. My upper swivel jams when you least want it to and trying to see if a replacement is cheaper that a refurbishment.

Swing Mooring
Hi Larry, Looks like I will be on a mooring this year, rather than a slip so I had a couple of questions on your set up. Is the colligo plate directly attached to the mooring chain below the mooring ball? Presume your mooring ball is big enough not to get dragged under by the weight of the bridle pl...

My winch point also faces aft because I specced the cockpit table which needs the bracket facing forwards. Aft is a nightmare to trim as crew has to reach down behind the traveller. And its supertight with any mainsheet tension on. I know some owners have done away with the central mechanism and ins...

Over time, the holes in the bowsprit which accept the locking pin have become enlarged through wear and tear / forcing of the pin into the hole when not properly aligned. The carbon fibres are exposed. Anyone know of a repair solution?

Yes, the 35 aft berth can get a little warm at times. Even when there is airflow from the main cabin hatch, there is a marked difference between lying in the airflow (starboard side) and behind the companionway (port side) We have a small hatch which opens into the cockpit deck but that doesn't do m...

Carrying an Outboard Motor
Given the absence of an aft rail on the DF35, does anyone have an elegant solution for carrying an outboard motor. All the brackets Ive seen from the likes of Garelick etc. are too ugly and they carry the engine too high. I have a 8hp 2-stroke Yamaha.

I was able to prise a sail batten down one side of the board, enough to create the space for the old knot to be pushed out. Then threaded the new downhaul line back through. Problem was the new knot would not compress as much as the old one so at present the knot just rests on the edge of the board....

Downhaul line snapped at the point where it enters the hole on the rear of the board. Is the only way to replace this to crane the boat and drop the board out throughout bottom?

OK, thanks. I think I get it the geometry. As the wing is pulled in, the natural movement is for the tramp wire to come out of the beam but if you keep this tight, the block inside the beam has to move towards the opening at the hinge end. Is there a need to loosen the forward end of the trampoline ...

Hi Mario, I'm with you. I was referring to the rectangular plate in the end of the forward face of the aft beam that houses the brass sheave that the tramp wire passes through into the beam. I can easily remove the large plate in the inner end of the beam (only accessible when the boat is folded) bu...

Access to swing wing line block inside aka.
While replacing a swing wing line, I jammed the guide line in the block inside the aka. Is there anyway of getting to this block apart from taking off the plate and block which guides the tramp wire into the aka? I've tried loosening the hex screws but so far they will not budge.

In the Gulf, a week in the water would find the whole unit pretty much welded to the hull due to the growth. Its not so bad here but I still take it out. If you have your wings folded on the DF35, the main hull is lifted out of the water even more so the inflow is minimal. I usually wrap a rag aroun...

Hi Einar, Thanks so much for the comprehensive reply. My post was probably a bit misleading - what I meant is that the meter doesn't show any charge over and above the solar panel input (I have 3) when running the engine. I have a feeling that the engine is not charging the batteries at all. One thi...

re: folding preventer
Thanks for the info, Mika
Given that you are essentially replacing the wire stays at the the bows with a synthetic material, I wonder whether anyone has given any thought to using a synthetic alternative to the wire water stays?
I would think it would be a significant weight saving.

Hi Mika,
What is the "short harbour pole". Is this something specific to the 1000? do you use this in addition to the bow attachments or instead of? Could you post more details of the parts you use i.e. length of line, size of blocks etc.
Regards, Penry

My DF35 is a European spec boat with 220V shorepower. I have just moved with boat (and family!) to the US and was wondering whether I need to make any adjustments.
