ok, sound different , maybe You could post a picture. I will get a picture of mine - it's very simple and not possible to handle from cockpit.
Regarding reefing, I have a Marstrom carbon rig - so that's not compareable with Yours, but I have to go on deck to reef.
regards
Anders

How to raise a capsized Dragonfly
Hi ! With relation to the new thread about the capsized dragonfly 28 i Denmark, I would like to know if there are anybody here which could share their knowledge about "how to raise a capsized Dragonfly (without destroying the boat)" . I'm aware that fx. Corsair/Farrier has described how to...

The Carver stuff is pretty cool, but there are still moving parts - these ones from Wichard are great - I use the smallest one my DF25

I find it very strange that some compare the DF25 to the DF28 in this thread. The two boats can't be compared since the 28 is 3 feet longer and 50% more expensive. The 25 was designed as a daycruiser/racer that should be fun to sail and race, AND also have a lower price tag. I could afford the 25 bu...

I have to disagree with You Stefan regarding the speed. This beauty has a carbon rig of 11.80 meter which is 30 cm shorter than Your 800 R. But since it's a carbon mast she will be able to carry and control a much bigger top. Most important is that the boat is designed to sail on one float alone(150...

But another thing
Yes, if you study the results from "Fyn Cup" you will see that the new 28 is the fastest production boat, but pls. remark that we beat all 920 (c and E) in our 800 R !! - Wind conditions 16-30 knots. - distance is 130 nm with approx 40 nm pure upwind.

Hi ! We are using a 1,65 meter carbon bow spirit on our 800R. The support lines used is a 8mm dynema going from bow to spirit and 6 mm. going from amas to bow spirit. With this we carry a 67 square meter gennaker. The carbon tube came from a 18' skiff - but I have seen examples here in Denmark using...

Yes, the top will always bend but there are a lot of parameters which influence on the bending. Another user here wrote that You should use more backstay - You can never prevent the mast to bend to leeward above backstays by using the backstays ! This could in fact worse the situation since there wo...

The mast is produced on Quorning Boats, and I have ordered one to delivery here in february, for my 1993 cr. I have the mast as an upgrade of the old one, meaning that all the old stuff, i.e mast foot, top etc are used again. The price is then 30-40.000 dkr+vat - but you have to ask Jens Quorning fo...

Re: DF1200 in the ARC
Sure ! Here is a resume: (I wonder if I can do it with my DF800 :-) ) Danish Dragonfly crossing the atlantic in good shape. Dragonfly trimaran "Skagerrak" with crew Tina and Jens Thuesen crossed the atlantic in 14 days and 26 hours. They did it in the Atlantic Rally for cruisers (ARC). The...

Isomat Isofurl profile
Hi ! I'm considering a higher mast for my DF800, but ran into a problem regarding the forestay. The forestay on my boat is the Isofurl rod forestay(no wire inside profile). The Isomat system is very smart, without the need for a halyard with the Halyard Hoist Locking Car, but unfortunately they don'...
